Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rugby for Randy Jon Korner, 65, who died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Rugby.
Burial will be Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
Randy was born May 8, 1950 in Minot, a son of John David and Anna (Lund) Korner. He graduated from Minot High School in 1968. On July 10, 1968 he entered the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on April 3, 1971. He was once married to Linda Hagen. He lived and worked in Minot, Fargo, Rugby and Bottineau in building trades, and in recent years the Turtle Mountains. In the winter months he worked at the Bottineau Winter Park.
He is survived by his father, Burlington; daughters Rebecca and Jennifer, both of Rugby; brothers, Larry, Williston; Donny, Harvey; Gene, Minot; Joe, Burlington; and Leslie, Halley, Minn.; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Ronald.
Wally Fretland will officiate. Music will be provided by Barbara Lee, organist.
Casket bearers will be Blake Weidner and Jared, Joe, Jonathan, Josh and Larry Korner.
Military honors will be provided by the Clarence A. Larson American Legion Post in Rugby and by the N.D. Military Honors Detail in Mandan.
