Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church in Towner for Orrin Irving Iverson, 96, Towner, who died Thursday, June 11, at Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.
Burial was in Union Cemetery in Towner.
Orrin was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Berwick, a son of Erick Irving and Evelyn Amalia (Oppen) Iverson. He grew up and attended school in the Berwick area. He moved to Montana and worked on a sugar beet farm and as a spiker on the Great Northern Railroad. He returned to the Towner area and worked for farmers and ranchers. On Sept. 21, 1939, he married Agnes Lorraine McCombs in Towner. In later years he was a bus driver for the Towner and Rugby school districts. In 2012 he entered the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.
He is survived by his wife, Rugby; children, Richard, Tilton, Ill.; Dean, Towner; Bonnie Lang, Towner; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Victor, Minot; sister, Lillian Bahl, Minot.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest, LaVerne and Chester.
Wally Fretland officiated. Music was provided by Barbara Lee, organist, and Vernon Larson, soloist.
Casketbearers were Frank Bachmeier, David Jaeger, Anthony Jorde, Christie and Dennis Lynnes, Louis Sasse and Jim Thom.
