Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church in Rugby for Wallace Emmanuel Klebe, 91, Rugby, who died Tuesday, March 24, at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.
Burial will be later in the spring in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby.
Wallace was born March 26, 1923 in Willow Creek township (McHenry County), west of Willow City. He grew up in the area and attended country school. His father died when he was young, so he farmed with his mother until he bought some land in the area. On Feb. 5, 1956, he married Janet Batema in Rugby. They moved to Rugby in the ’80s. He worked for local implement dealers for a short time until his retirement in the mid-’80s.
He was active on several community boards, and was a member and congregational treasurer for St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; children, Larry, Devils Lake; Dwight, Forks, Wash.; Dennis, Devils Lake; Donna Chester, Minot; brother, Edwin, Minot; sister, Lucille Spelhaug, Glenburn; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Viola Thompson; three infant brothers.
Rev. Joshua Reimche will officiate. Music will be provided by Dianne Montonye, organist.
Casketbearers will be grandchildren: Krista Chester, Aaron, Bryce, Matthew, Megan, Michael, Nathan and Stephanie Klebe.
