Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby for Clara Ebach, 89, Rugby, who died Tuesday, Feb. 11, at her home.
Clara was born March 25, 1925 in Balta, a daughter of Mike & Katherine (Kloetzel) Ebach. They moved to a farm nine miles north of Rugby, and she graduated from Spruce Hill School. She worked in Chicago before returning to Rugby, where she worked at the Coast to Coast and C&G Hardware stores until their closures.
She was a charter member of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society, a secretary of the Heart of America chapter of Germans from Russia, a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and a member of Little Flower Church and its choir.
She is survived by her sisters, Agnes Tallarico, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Theresa O’Connell, Palos Park, Ill.; Mary Ebach, Rugby; and Carol Brown, Larimore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clemence, John, Matt and Alex; sisters, Elizabeth Schmidt, Lee Ebach and Eve Childress.
Fr. Tom Graner officiated, assisted by Fr. Paul. Music was provided by Glenda Mack, organist, Geoffrey Childress and Tina Olson.
Pallbearers were Michael Tallarico, Tom Childress, James Childress, Neil Childress II, Mike O’Connell, Bill O’Connell, Ian and Ryan Brown (escorts).
