Alvis Beaver

Alvis Beaver, age 64, of Rolette, ND passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Alvis Rodney Beaver was born on August 12, 1950 in Rolette, ND to Melvin and Ethel (Henderson) Beaver. He was raised on a farm near Rolette and completed his education there as well, furthering his education for two years at NDSU in Agriculture Education. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1971 and received and honorable discharge for his years of service. Alvis was united in marriage to Diana Bernhagen on July 2, 1971 at Valle Lutheran Church in Rolette. Together they raised three children, Eric, Bryan and Danielle. Alvis was a self employed farmer and also owned and operated a pawn shop near Rolette. He will be remembered for his kind heart and someone who was always thinking of and concerned for others. He loved his time spent with family and especially time with his grandchildren. Alvis enjoyed hunting, reading, and working on various projects, as he was a handyman and “jack of all trades”. He liked visiting and learning new things. Alvis will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and many friends.

Alvis is survived by is wife of 43 years, Diana Beaver of Rolette; sons, Eric Beaver of Rolette and Bryan Beaver of Bottineau; daughter, Danielle (Kris) Lindseth of Munich; four granddaughters, Justice and Shauntae Beaver (Eric) of Sioux Falls, SD, Isabel Beaver and Abigail Lindseth (Danielle) of Munich; brothers, Roger (Fern) Beaver of Devils Lake and Michael (Susan) Beaver of Mesa, AZ; and sister, Laurie Beaver Johnson of Mesa, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ethel Beaver.

Casket Bearers are Ashley Johnson (Godchild and nephew), David Crowe (Godchild and great nephew), Gerry Beaver (cousin), Bradley Beaver (nephew), Shawn Beaver (nephew), Matthew Purpur (nephew).

Honorary Bearers are his granddaughters, Justice Beaver, Shauntae Beaver, Isabel Beaver and Abigail Lindseth.

Music by Bob Gilje, soloist and Margaret Wittmeyer, pianist.

Military Honors by Dethman-Armstrong Post #194 of Rolette and the Military Funeral Honor Guard of Grand Forks, ND.

A visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, ND with a Prayer Service at 7 PM. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, ND with Pastor Gene Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Rolette City Cemetery, Rolette, ND.
