Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Towner for Edna Mae Buer, 80, Rugby, formerly of Towner, who died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.
Burial will be in the spring at Southwest Baptist Cemetery in Berwick.
Edna was born Sept. 14, 1934 in Rugby, a daughter of Alfred “Bud” & Nora (Thomas) Rosencrans. She was raised in her parents’ home in Denbigh and completed her education in rural country schools. On Jan. 31, 1968 she married Jennings Buer. They lived on a small farm until they moved to Towner to care for Edna’s mother. They later moved back to the farm until Jennings’s illness made them move back to Towner. Edna lived in Towner until she moved into the Haaland Estates in Rugby.
She is survived by sons, Darin, Towner; Daniel, Lansing, Kans.; four grandchildren; sisters, Erma Berndt and Jean Carpenter, all of Towner; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Fred, Russell, Alfred K. and Tom Rosencrans; sisters, Alice Rosencrans and Lois Carpenter.
Pastor Lindas Wimmer and Wally Fretland will officiate. Music will be provided by Sharon St. Aubin, pianist.
Casketbearers will be Jason Mongeon, Paul Rosencrans, Fred Berndt, Lyle Carpenter Jr., Brad Atkinson and John Rosencrans.
