Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby for Loretta Yoder, 81, Rugby, who died Monday, Jan. 5, at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.
Burial will be in the spring at Lakeview Mennonite Cemetery in rural Wolford.
Loretta was born Oct. 11, 1933 in Rugby, a daughter of Jerry P. & Catherine (Gingerich) Yoder. She was raised in the home of her parents and attended a rural school near Wolford. As a young adult she would relocate between Rugby and Grand Forks. She was employed at several restaurants for a short period of time. She moved to the Heart of America Care Center in July 2012.
She was a volunteer at the Senior Citizen Center in Grand Forks, and was awarded several plaques for her volunteer services.
She is survived by sisters, Bernice Erb, Wisner, Neb.; Bonnie Stoll, Montgomery, Ind.; Vera Yoder, Grand Forks; brother, Dewey Yoder, Hollister, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Diane Yoder, Grand Forks; Mary Lou Stoll, Washington, Ind.; Rachel Yoder, Washington, Ind. and Sarasota, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, Earl, Ralph, Loren and Ray; sisters, Ethel Yoder, Ellen Huntzinger, Alice Yoder, Bessie Hochstetler and Evelyn Hochstetler.
Cleo Yoder officiated. Music was provided by Glenda Graber, Marlys Slaubaugh, Barb Slaubaugh and Lila Kanagy.
Casketbearers were Verlin Hochstetler, Cleo Yoder, Jerry Erb, Les Hochstetler, D.J Stoll and Chad Yoder.
