Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau for Luella Vivian Seter, 87, Rugby, who died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 at a Minot hospital.
Burial was in the Turtle Mountain Cemetery of rural Carbury.
Vivian was born Jan. 27, 2014 in Bottineau, a daughter of Carl & Mina (Bakken) Seter. She was educated in a schoolhouse a mile from her home, and continued her education in Newburg, graduating in 1947. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 44 years, starting in Carbury and then serving as postmaster in Knox until her retirement. In 2014 she became a resident of the HAMC Care Center. She moved to Bottineau in 2012.
She was a member of the Turtle Mountain Lutheran Church of rural Carbury and its Ladies Aid; American Legion Auxiliary; Sons of Norway; Knox 55 Club; National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Bethany Lutheran Church of Rugby.
She is survived by brothers, Lester Vernon, Battle Ground, Wash.; Calvin Seter, Ft. Worth, Texas; Arthur Seter, Ventura, Calif.; sisters, Shirley Johnson, Minot; Marcia Foss, Bottineau; Margaret Budd, Watertown, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Myra Seter, Cando; Mavis Seter, Loveland, Colo.; Betty Seter, Billings, Mont.; 33 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin, Howard John, Lynn Vern, Clair and Gordon; sister, Gretchen Wicks; brothers-in-law, Gordon Johnson, Harold Wicks and Clarence Foss.
Rev. Bernard Seter officiated. Special music was provided.
Casketbearers were Joshua and Jeff Foss, Lance Footit and Ralph Ell.
