Morris Doran Jackson, 58, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Calif.
Morris was born April 7, 1956 in Jamestown. Later that year his family moved to California. He attended schools in both Port Hueneme and Oxnard. After high school he attended the Tile Institute in Los Angeles, making a career as a tile setter. In the 1980s he joined the Army Reserve, serving for six years. He went to basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri, and then attended medical logistics specialist school.
He was awarded the Tile Institute’s Excellence Award.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, John & LaVerne Gustafson, Rugby; sister, Regina, Templeton, Calif.; brothers, Miles and Blair, both of Templeton, Calif.; John, Rugby; daughter, Jennifer, Port Hueneme, Calif.; sons, Joey, Rugby; Daniel, Grand Forks; grandsons, Alex and Anthony, Port Hueneme, Calif.; many nieces and nephews; friends, Jammie, Pancho, Brad, Robert and special friends Bob & Penny Boehm.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; brother, Darrell; sister, Carla.
