Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at Leeds Lutheran Church for Elvin Randle, 90, Rugby, formerly of Baker, who died Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.

Burial was at the St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery in rural York.

Elvin was born Dec. 1, 1924 on a farm near Baker, a son of Walter & Hazel (Allan) Randle. He attended grade school in the country school in Twin Lake Township and high school at BCATS in Maddock. He worked building electrical lines in rural areas as the REA was developed in the area. On June 3, 1951 he married Ardis Broe at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in rural York. In 1955 they purchased the Baker Trading Post. He worked as a carpenter for 50 years. He moved to the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby in February 2013.

He was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church until its closure, and the Leeds Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; children, Peggy Brager and Sharlene Kjosa, both of West Fargo; Marc and Wayne Randle, both of Maddock; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois Dumdai of Harvey; Earl Randle, Eden Prairie, Minn.; Owen Randle, Minot; sisters-in-law, Doris Randle, West Fargo; Lucille Randle, Minot.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Dale; son-in-law Robert Kjosa; brothers, Arlin, Lyle and Duane; brother-in-law Elburn Dumdai; sister-in-law Louise Randle.

Pastor Mike Pretzer officiated. Music was provided by Rachel Markestad and Lucia Jacobson.

Casketbearers were Kevin, Kirk, Gary and Dennis Randle, Wesley and Dale Broe, Chris Gruhl and James Fragodt. Honorary bearers were friends of Elvin.
