Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at Zion United Methodist Church in Grand Forks for Gerald “Jerry” Ray Peeler, 69, Cass Lake, Minn., formerly of Grand Forks, who died Sunday, Nov. 16 at home.
Jerry was born May 20, 1945 in Paris, Texas, a son of John & Faye Peeler. He graduated from Lancaster, Texas in 1963. From 1966-70 he served in the U.S. Air Force. On Aug. 23, 1970 he married Louise Van Sweringen in Rugby. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1976. He worked for UND and in Altru Hospital’s finance department.
He was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church, Kiwanis and Jaycees in Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife, Cass Lake; sons, Dave, Buffalo, Minn.; Kris, St. Paul, Minn.; daughter, Shannon Rasinski, Pine City, Minn.; seven grandchildren; sisters Donna Peeler and Betty Booth, both of Paris, Texas; uncle, Donald Monk, Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pastor Paul Hesterberg officiated.
