Casimer (Casey) Hoffert, 85, Rugby, formerly of Esmond, ND, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society, Bottineau, ND. Mass Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby, ND, with Father Paulraj HGN, celebrant . Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Vigil and Rosary will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby, ND. Serving as Readers will be Valerie Nordlie and Rosline Growen. Gift Bearers will be grand-daughters: Toni Marie, Mary Jo, Nicole, Kristin, Jessica, Deanna, and Tiffany. Casket Bearers will be Shane Lemer, Jesse Bohl, Jerald Bohl, Adam Lynn Bohl, Kenneth Bohl, Nathaniel Bohl, Matthew Bohl, Jerome Schneider. Honorary Bearers will be all his great-grandchildren. Music will be provided by Glenda Mack and led by Sara Selensky.

Casimer was born on December 8, 1928 to Peter and Regina (Reiger) Hoffert on their farm near Esmond, ND. He married Helen J. Selensky on September 24, 1951 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Selz, ND. They were married 63 years and made their home on the farm near Esmond, ND. They had 7 children: Janelle (Anton) Lemer, Twyla (Adam N) Bohl, Charlet (Joseph) Bohl, Kelvin Hoffert, Lynn Hoffert, Roxanne Schneider, and Valerie Nordlie. In December 2012, he retired with his wife, Helen, to the Good Samaritan Society in Bottineau, ND.

Casimer was baptized, confirmed, and had Holy Communion at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond, ND. He helped on his family farm, with field work, milked cows, and some ranching. He was a carpenter at the Nekoma Missile Base, mechanic, transmission expert, and ‘A Jack of All Trades’. He began farming at a young age and liked to help people in distress. He was a KC’s member for many years. He was the youngest of 10 children, whom are all deceased. He enjoyed traveling and visiting. They visited Europe, Rome, Arizona, ‘Mother Cabrina Shrine’ in Denver, Colorado, ‘Immaculate Mary’ in Manitoba, Canada, and relatives in Minnesota, Montana, and Canada.

He is survived by his wife: Helen, children: Janelle, Twyla, Charlet, Kelvin Hoffert, Lynn Hoffert, Roxanne, and Valerie. Grandchildren: Toni Marie (Jeff) Jacobson, Shane (Mandy) Lemer, Jesse Bohl, Adam Lynn (Sadina) Bohl, Nicole (Jamey) Grossman, Kenneth (Chelbie) Bohl, Matthew and Nathaniel Bohl, Jerald (Kristen) Bohl, Mary Jo Bohl, Kristin (Luke) Faleide, Leland, Priscilla, Joshua, Stuart, Jerome, Deanna and Tiffany Schneider, Melissa and Jessica Nordlie, and great-grandchildren: Sydney and Rochelle Jacobson, Aubrey, Aliviah, Sadie and Nadia Lemer, Bryant, Bently, Brookelynn Bohl, Danica, Kate and Camden Grossman, Carson, Marisa, Micah and Tosten Bohl, Lynze Hoffert, Mason Schneider, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Regina. Siblings: Frank Hoffert, Regina Buckmier, Lucille Gefroh, Margie Able, Joseph Hoffert, John Hoffert, Jacob Hoffert, Katie Hoffert, Ann Stark. Son in law: Jay Nordlie.
