Private family services were held for Carmen Rae Satrang, 45, Rugby, who died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at the Heart of America Medical Center.

Carmen was born Jan. 19, 1969 in Rolla, a daughter of James A. & Karen K. (Johnson) Satrang. She graduated from Independence High School in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1987. In 2000 she moved to Rugby to be closer to family. She did daycare for several Rugby children.

She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Satrang, Phoenix, Ariz.; Kimberly Young, Scottsdale, Ariz.; mother, Karen Calkins, Rugby; father, Wellsburg, W. Va.; siblings, Sherri Montoya, Phoenix; Kim Ascenzo, Tammy Pierce and Bobby Gray, all of Wellsburg; Shawnda Satrang, Rugby; Shevonne and Randolph Calkins, both of Tacoma, Wash.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank & Gladys Johnson and Alfred & Beryl Satrang; aunt, Cleo Berdahl; uncle, Robert Johnson.
