A mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington, Wisc., for Joseph C. Voeller, 86, Port Washington, who died Sunday, Sept. 28 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon, Wisc.
Burial with military honors was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington, Wisc.
Joe was born in Rugby, a son of Rochus & Katherine (Wentz) Voeller. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In January 1961 he and his brothers Edward and Adrian started Voeller, Inc., in Port Washington, which they operated until retiring in December 2002. On June 3, 1961 he married Shirley Selle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He was a member of the St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church and the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post #82 in Port Washington.
He is survived by his wife; children, Steven Voeller, Saukville, Wisc.; Lisa Lazore, Fredonia, Wisc.; five grandchildren; brothers, Al Voeller, Broken Arrow, Okla.; Adrian Voeller, Port Washington, Wisc.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy and Edward Voeller.
Fr. Pat Wendt officiated.
