Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Towner for Michael Gerard Tennencour, 58, Sidney, Mont., who died Tuesday, Sept. 16 at home.
Burial was in Union Cemetery in Towner.
Mike was born April 12, 1956 in Rolette, a son of John & Gladys (Gehres-Sparby) Tennancour. He attended Rolette Public School, graduating in 1974. After graduation, he served for 20 years in the U.S. Army. He worked at Sykes Enterprises in Minot, The Connection in Rugby, Winger Cheese in Towner and Sidney Sugars in Sidney, Mont. In 1972 he met his future wife, Memory Berg, and they married in 1977 in Towner.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Jennifer Arias; Christina Keller, Towner; son, Michael “P.J.” Tennancour, Sidney, Mont.; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Hoffman, Rolla; Beverly Belgarde, Belcourt; Coleen Armstrong, Minot; Sandra Boucher, Grand Forks; Donald Tennancour, Tolna; Ray Tennancour, Palisades, Colo.; Mary Malo, Rugby; Kenneth Tennancour, Winder, Ga.; Timothy Tennancour, West Fargo; Teresa Montgomery, McCana; Linda Tennancour-Sleeper, Covington, Wash.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Pete Sparby; son, Matthew; brothers, John and Chuck, in-laws, Chuck Oster and Clarence & Betty (Rodlund) Berg.
Wally Fretland officiated.
Casketbearers were Scott Belgarde, DuWayne Hoffman, Travis Tennancour, Danny Armstrong, Raymond Berry and Christopher Montgomery. Honorary bearer was Jeremy Malo.
