Keith D. Anderson,64, Lake Park, MN, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Keith Douglas Anderson, son of Carl and Jean (Dokken) Anderson, was born on July 7, 1950, in Rugby, ND. He graduated from high school in Rugby in 1968 and completed two years of training as an electrician at NDSCS in Wahpeton. After completing his education, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country for the next four years. Keith was assigned to the electrical division of the engineering department on a diesel submarine and he was awarded a Commanding Officer’s Letter of Commendation for his part in combating a casualty and restoring the affected equipment to operational condition. He was honorably discharged in April 1976.

After his discharge from the Navy, Keith returned to Rugby where he farmed and drove truck for the next several years. He was married and moved to Abilene, TX where he worked as a construction electrician, traveling extensively throughout the U.S. for his work. Keith was later divorced and then lived in Atlanta, GA for several years where he owned a florist shop. He later moved to Port Arthur, TX and worked on an off-shore drilling rig. In 2008 his health began to deteriorate and he moved back to Abilene, TX, to live with his daughter, Amanda. In June 2012, Keith moved to Sunnyside in Lake Park, MN where he resided until his death.

Keith was a true outdoorsman, and he especially loved hunting and fishing. He was extremely proud of his years of service in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his parents, his son, Jason Anderson, Abilene, TX, his grand-daughter, Kalyssta Riddle, Powder Springs,GA, and his sisters, Susan (Jim) Carpenter, Lake Park, MN and Karla (Gerard) Gwost, Harwood, ND. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Riddle.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Interment will be on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 12:30 P.M. at Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby, ND.
