Funeral mass was held Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado, Ark., for Peter Joseph Scheett, 79, El Dorado, who died Tuesday, Aug. 5 at home.

Burial, with military honors, was in Harper Springs Cemetery in Huttig, Ark.

Peter was born May 22, 1935 in Edmore, a son of Edmond & Rosella (Sanders) Scheett. From 1954-56 he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. For more than 19 years he worked in accounting and bookkeeping for BF Goodrich, later becoming a store manager. He then worked for Hillard Drilling for eight years, and Americable for five years.

He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado.

He is survived by his wife, Floyce, El Dorado, Ark.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Francis, Newport News, Va.; Ed, Waterford, Mich.; Gabe, West Fargo; Tony, Grand Forks; sisters, Christina Schmidt, Plentywood, Mont.; Anna Zahradka, West Fargo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Marcus Justin Lum; brothers, Conrad and Simon; sister, Barbara Wilhelmi.

Fr. Edward D’Almeida officiated.
