Funeral Mass for Douglas Jaeger, 59, of Dickinson, ND, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson, ND, with Monsignor Gene Lindemann celebrating.Visitation for Douglas will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with a vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.

Douglas passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, ND.

Douglas John Jaeger was born December 13, 1954, the son of Pat and Rose (Black) Jaeger Rohrer. He grew up in Rugby and attended school, graduating from High School. He excelled at basketball and earned a scholarship to Minot State University where he played on the Beaver Basketball Team. Doug took a position with Dickinson Parks and Rec., eventually serving as the Director where he was instrumental in developing the Gress Softball Complex. It was during this time that he met Michele Lindemann. The two were united in marriage on August 21 and later blessed with a son, Bradley John.

Doug started a new chapter in his life when he began selling for Associated Pool Builders, and was able to sell pools throughout the region for nearly 20 years. Community and Recreation were two very important parts of Doug’s life and they were both instrumental in his final project. On July 25, 2014 Doug’s final pool was introduced to the Dickinson community when the West River Community Center opened their new state of the art outdoor pool. This was one of his proudest moments.

He loved hunting pheasants with his loyal dogs, and big game hunting trips with his friends. In the summer he enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake. Doug was an avid sports fan, supporting the Titans and Blue Hawks at every event he could attend. He was recently inducted into the Minot State Athletics Hall of Fame. Throughout the years, Doug loved playing basketball, participating in city league, noon ball, and countless tournaments throughout the region. Over the years he stayed in touch with Park and Rec directors around the state. Doug will be remembered for his strong will, and determined outlook on life.

Doug is survived by his mother, Rose Rohrer of Rugby, ND; son, Bradley Jaeger of Dickinson, ND; brother Duane Jaeger of Wichita, KS; sisters, Deborah (Dr. James) Cunningham of WI, Sherry (Edward) Berger of Wichita, KS; special cousin Joann Rosecrans and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Pat Jaeger.
