A mass of Christian burial will be held today at 11 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby for Dennis Duane Scheet, 70, Rugby, who died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at home.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Dennis was born Oct. 18, 1943 in Balta, a son of Xavier & Christine (Hager) Scheet. He completed his education in 1958, and served in the U.S. Army/National Guard from 1961 to 1969. He lived in Oakland, Calif., and worked for an automotive company. Then he moved to Lodi, Calif., while working for the same company. Upon returning to North Dakota, he and his wife, Marie, managed Imperial Manor Trailer Court and managed and owned Pats Motel and Campground. Before retiring he did maintenance at the Minot Commission on Aging and delivered Meals on Wheels. After retiring, he and Marie started D&M Carpet Cleaning.

He is survived by his wife, Rugby; children Kevin and Jody; step-children, Rosie, Vickie, Steve, Jackie, Tom, Terrie, Mike; siblings, Gabe, Maggie, Raymond, Albert, Joan Marie, Francis; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rosemary, Daniel, Susan and Linda.

Fr. Tom Graner officiated. Music was provided by Robert Graber, cantor, and Angie Deplazes, organist.

Casketbearers were John LaDue, Jon Te LaDue, Donnie Scheet, Ken Scheet, Roger Scheet and Marcel Barthel.
