Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rugby for Pearl Hildegaard Mueller, 87, Rugby, who died Friday, June 13 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.
Burial was in Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby.
Pearl was born April 23, 1927 on the family farm in Isabel Township, near Esmond, a daughter of Carl & Adele (Johanneson) Jacobson. She graduated from Esmond High School in 1945. She attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., and worked for Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot and Pilgrim Park Bible Camp at Lake Metigoshe. In 1952 she graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Rugby and started her lifelong career as a registered nurse. On May 17, 1953 she married Harold Mueller in Rugby. She worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital and Heart of America Medical Center until she retired in 1997. In late 2011, she entered the HAMC Long Term Care Unit.
She was a member of the Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Association, and Bethany Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; children, Diane Vincent, Bottineau; Paul Mueller, Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Henning Jacobson, Devils Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lennart Jacobson; sisters, Sonja Ledgerwood and Stella Benson.
Rev. Dana Holter officiated. Music was provided by Jane Ekren, organist.
Pallbearers were Rick Benson, Lane and Lee Jacobson, Paul Mueller, Allen Ostenson and John Vincent, Jr.
