Funeral services were held Friday, June 6, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Willow City for Marlow Maurice Kitzman, 63, Willow City, who died Monday, June 2, at Manor Care Center in Minot.
Marlow was born September 25, 1950 in Bottineau, a son of Maurice & Margaret Kitzman. He was raised in Mouse River Township- McHenry County rural Willow City and graduated from Upham High School in 1968. On July 7, 1970 he entered the US Army, serving as a supply clerk in Germany and Vietnam. On June 30, 1972 he was discharged as a Specialist 4. On March 2, 1972 he married Pauline Franziska Mindermann in Baumholder, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Upon returning to the Willow City area, Marlow farmed and ranched for the rest of his life in Mouse River township.
He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Earl Nermoe American Legion Post #269 in Upham, McHenry County Weed Board, and Mouse River Township treasurer.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Nicole Cayko, Surrey; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Teresa Marie and Michael Josef.
Rev. Joshua D. Reimche officiated. Music was provided by Noreen Linke, organist.
Casketbearers were Bunny Dreyer, Wesley Goodman, Brandon Fecho, Marty Kitzman, Danny Klebe and Stevan Resler. Military honors were provided by the Earl Nermoe American Legion Post #269 and the North Dakota Military Honors Detail.
