Beverly Jean Selvig
Beverly Jean Selvig, 88, of Scio, OR, passed away Tuesday at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Petersburg, ND, the daughter of Alfred and Nora Ada (Swendseid) Drengson. Bev attended school in Petersburg. She moved to Rolette, ND then to Rugby, ND. In 1959 she moved to Corvallis, OR.
Bev enjoyed playing games, especially bingo and rummy. She was a caregiver to three families for many years. Bev loved her children and grandchildren and found much enjoyment with them. She spent many hours working in the garden with plants and flowers. Bev worked as a hostess in a family restaurant for 27 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and taught vacation Bible school in the early 1960’s.
Beverly married Elmer Selvig on November 19, 1945. Elmer died November 23, 2000. She was also preceded by her parents, Alfred and Nora Drengson, and brothers, Keith and Dean Drengson. Survivors include her children, Dione Cody (John), of Scio, OR, Dennis Selvig (Becca), Albany, OR, Darrell Selvig, Junction City, OR and Debbie Selvig (Casey), Jefferson, OR; sisters, Lyla Evenson, Rugby, ND and Avis Kreuger, Grand Forks, ND; 14 grandchildren, 23, great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. She prayed continually for her family. When she breathed her last breath, most of her family was by her side. Beverly was an amazing and special woman, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
