Funeral services were held Friday, March 7 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds for Lennis Foss, 70, Leeds, who died Sunday, March 2 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo.
Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
Lennis was born September 20, 1943 in Rugby, a son of Invald & Myrtle (Valde) Foss. He was raised in Leeds and graduated from Leeds High School in 1961. He worked on the farm until he enrolled at the Wahpeton State School of Science in 1963, where he studied industrial drafting, sheet metal and air conditioning. In 1967 he moved to Minneapolis and worked the summer until being drafted into the US Army and serving in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He worked in Washington prior to returning to Leeds and farmed for several years. He also worked in Minot and Bismarck and lived in Mandan for 10 years. He returned to Leeds, where he farmed and did maintenance work at REM in Devils Lake until retiring in 2007.
He was a member of the Leeds Lutheran Church, Sidney Britsch American Legion Post #268 at York, the Robert Tovsrud VFW Post #757 of Harlow and the Street Rod Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Tiffaney Two Eagle of St. Michael; three grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Ostreim.
