Leonard Keller
Leonard Peter Keller, the son of Michael and Josephine (Keller) Keller, was born December 9, 1940 in the rural Pierce County home of his parents. He died at the age of 72 years on October 21, 2013 in his home in Rugby, North Dakota. He was raised in Selz, North Dakota and attended Selz Special School through the eighth grade. He obtained his GED on May 7, 1969, following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force. Following service, he worked at various jobs throughout his life as a laborer. He was united in marriage to Judy Wallen, and to this union, five children were born. Leonard enjoyed fishing, playing billiards and following baseball.
Survivors include his five children, Leonard P. Jr., Michael, Melissa Warren, Cassandra (Daniel) Branson and Mary (Victor Sr.) Coucelos, all residing in California; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Shirley) of Surrey and Frank (Rose) of Rugby; two sisters, Agnes Busch of Westminster, Colorado and Clara Davis of Mandan; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Adam, Tony and Raymond Keller; one sister, Mary Ann Schmaltz Lybeck; and his parents.
Private family services will be held with burial in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
