Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Harvey for Dorothy Kost, 93, Harvey, who died Sunday, Oct. 20 at St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Harvey.
Dorothy was born Oct. 11, 1920 in Harvey, a daughter of Roland & Miriam (Iwan) Brower. She grew up and attended rural school near Martin and graduated from Harvey High School in 1937. She then received a teaching certificate after attending Minot State College. She taught school near Martin for several years. On Oct. 10, 1943 she married Anton Kost in Harvey. They lived near Martin for a brief time before moving to Harvey. She worked at J.C. Penney in Harvey for five years before teaching in Anamoose for three years and Harvey for eight years. She retired from teaching in 1978.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harvey, and an active member of the Wells Eagles Aerie #3080 Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Keller, Dickinson; Carol Miiller, Rugby; Nancy Lockrem, Minot; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Shirley McLaughlin; brother, Robert Brower; and great-grandson, PK Kirk.
