A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. William’s Catholic Church for Phyllis Maddock, 84, Maddock, who died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Maddock.
Phyllis was born August 13, 1929 in Silva, a daughter of Joseph & Eugenia (Voeller) Wentz. She grew up in Balta and graduated from Balta High School. She attended Minot State and received her teaching certificate. She taught at a rural school near Towner before her marriage to Joseph Maddock on May 10, 1956 in Sidney, Mont. They lived near Maddock and operated Maddock Construction Company until retirement. She lived at home until moving to the Maddock Memorial Home and St. Alosius.
She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and Altar Society in Maddock, and the Flora Homemakers.
She is survived by daughters, Paulette Isaak, Broadus, Mont.; Jackie Fossen, Maddock; Almyra Buckmeier, Brinsmade; sons, Kevin, Grand Forks; Wes and Bill, Maddock; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Wentz, Fargo; Bill Wentz, Oregon; sisters, Yvonne Wentz, Hattie Witt and Ann Wiebusch, Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; granddaughter Jasmine Sabbe, and sister Marcy Loberg.
Father Brian Bachmeier was the celebrant.
Casketbearers were Jared Isaak, Mitchell Fossen, Kyle Fossen, Alex Sabbe, Gabby Maddock and Macy Maddock.
