Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Leeds Lutheran Church for Allan G. Tofsrud, 46, of Leeds, who died Wednesday, August 14 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Burial was in the Trinity Free Lutheran Cemetery in Minnewaukan.
Allan was born October 5, 1966 in Rugby, a son of Glen and Sandra (Haagenson) Tofsrud. He was raised in the rural Minnewaukan area, attending school in Rugby and Churchs Ferry before graduating from Minnewaukan High School in 1984. Allan attended Lake Region State College in Devils Lake for a time. On July 12, 1986, Allan married DeShawn Hartl in Devils Lake. Ten years ago he started Tofsrud Trucking, at which he worked, in addition to farming, until his death.
He was a member of Leeds Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael of Minnewaukan; Christopher of Leeds; daughter, McKenna; one grandchild; his father; sisters, Cindy Huffman, Leeds; Brenda Severson, Grafton; Kari Tofsrud, New Rockford; step-grandmother, Elna Haagenson, Devils Lake; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; step-father, Michael Luder; grandparents, Gilbert and Agnes Tofsrud, Boyd Haagenson and Madelyn Hayes; uncle, David Haagenson; aunt, Yvonne Cowan.
Pastor Richard Budd officiated. Music was provided by Rhonda Thompson and Rita Thompson Halvorson, vocalists, and Dan Nybo, organist.
Casketbearers were Richard Reardon, Joel Cichos, Allen Nord, Scott Moen, Faron Stensland, Ernie Gingerich and Greg Konzak.
