Curtis Lunde

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Leeds Lutheran Church for Curtis Lunde, 74, rural Brinsmade, who died Wednesday, July 31 at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Burial was in the Brinsmade Cemetery.

Curtis was born November 14, 1938, a son of Roy & Olga (Kinneberg) Lunde. After his mother died, he was raised in the home of his grandparents, Carl & Anna Lunde. He attended grade school in Brinsmade, and graduated from Leeds High School in 1956. He served in the Army from 1959-61, and was recalled during the Berlin Crisis. He married Janis Holmes in 1959. He worked for area farmers and was a custom combiner for several years. He also drove truck for Leo Klien before going into the trucking business for himself. He farmed the Lunde homestead until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Janis; children, Kevin, of Brinsmade; Peggy Schumacher, Clear Lake, Minn.; Loren, of Leeds; brother, Roger, of Mohall; sisters, Mavis, of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Norma Kinnear, Winnepig, Manitoba; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; step-mother, Sally Lunde, Rugby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pastor Richard Budd officiated. Music was provided by Dan & MiChelle Nybo.

Casketbearers were William Julson, Bob Schumacher, Jesse Selland, Calen Schumacher, Taylor Schumacher and John Lunde.
