Marlene Lamphear

Marlene “Marti” Axtman Lamphear, 70, Bismarck, passed away July 15, 2013.
Marlene was born October 18, 1942, in Harvey, the daughter of Nick & Bergetta (Bichler) Axtman. Marti was raised on the family farm near Selz, where she attended schools.
Marti met Ron Lamphear while he was stationed at Minot Air Force Base, and they married May 5, 1964. The couple lived in upstate New York, where her daughter, Tina, was born, and then they returned to North Dakota and settled in Bismarck, where her son, Tom, was born.
She is remembered by her many friends and family as a woman who enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and being with her family.
Marti is survived by her daughter, Tina (Jon) Boughner, St. Cloud, Minn., and her son, Tom (Tammy) Lamphear, Bismarck; her grandchildren, Neil and Brittany; mother, Bergetta Axtman, Velva; her sisters, Irene Kramer, Velva, and Diane (Larry) Muffenbier, Balta; and her brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Axtman, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; and her father, Nick.
A memorial service was held Friday, July 19, 2013 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. Rev. Msgr. Thomas Richter was the Celebrant. Brittany Boughner and Neil Boughner were giftbearers, and Mike Lienz and Linda Paluck were readers. Music was provided by Joan Backes, organist, and Vance Krebs, soloist. Interment was in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
