Roy C. Georgeson
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 graveside at Rosehill Cemetery in Esmond for Roy C. Georgeson, 85, Esmond, who died Saturday, July 13 at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Roy was born July 18, 1927 in Esmond, a son of Albin and Hilda (Titterud) Georgeson. The family lived in various places in North Dakota before moving back to Esmond when Roy was 14. He attended Esmond High School. For a time, he worked at Lockheed in California before returning to Esmond. He worked for Ove Lunde Construction until his retirement. On October 18, 1949 he married Arlice Brown in Rugby.
He is survived by his sons, Verdane, of Maddock; Arlyn,n of Glen Carbon, Ill.; daughters, Shelley, of Crary; Denise, of Beulah; Marlene Keplin, of Grand Forks; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Albin Jr., of Warwick; Ardell, Shelbyville, Tenn.; sisters, Dorothy Tracer, Rector, Ark.; Jane Olson, of Harvey; Dona Nichols, of Grand Forks; sister-in-law Ilene Georgeson, of Maddock.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; sons Roy Jr. and Kerry; brothers, Harold and Palmer; sisters Adeline Zimbleman and Ardella Evans.
Pastor David Walters officiated. Music was provided by Jennifer Hagen, pianist, and Marlene Keplin, vocalist.
Casketbearers were Aaron, Brock, Matthew, Tony and Lance Georgeson, Jamie Batemen, Christeen Wurgler, Thea Buri, Don, Doree, Desiree, Dustin and Devin Keplin.
