A mass of Christian burial was held Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond for Genevieve Eberle, 99, of Esmond, who died Thursday, June 20 at the Heart of America Medical Long Term Care in Rugby.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Genevieve was born June 17, 1914 on a farm south of Esmond, a daughter of Nick & Frances Pfau. She attended a rural school and high school in Esmond. On August 26, 1934, she married Leo P. Eberle. She cooked at the Esmond School and at Ann’s Cafe. For the last five years she had resided at HAMC.

She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Harvey Eagles, and the Good Sam Club.

She is survived by daughters, LaVerne Kimball of Bismarck; Jane Wolfe of Esmond; Janice Meyer of Minot; Arlene Hueth, Sidney, Mont.; Dottie Thompson, Fargo; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, her sisters; son-in-law Richard Kimball; granddaughter, Jackie; and a great-grandson, Derick.

Fr. Brian Bachmeier and Fr. Bernard Pfau were celebrants. Lectors were LaVerne Kimball, Jane Wolfe and Arlene Hueth. Music was provided by Becky and Shelby Brandvold.

Casketbearers were Greg Wolfe, Dave Wolfe, Rick Kimball, Rod Kimball, Jeff Meyer, John Meyer, Joe Meyer, Mike Thompson, Jay Thompson and Ryan Thompson. Pallbearers were Pam Tharldson, Julie Grove, Heidi Garmann, Holly Mischel and Misti Petrie. Honorary bearers were the St. Boniface Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
