Gladys Hinck

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rugby for Gladys Christine Hinck, 89, Rugby, who died on Monday, June 3 , 2013 at the Haaland Estates in Rugby.

Burial was at the Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby.

Gladys was born on July 22, 1923, a daughter of Gabriel and Carrie Hill. She was raised on a farm near Overly, North Dakota. She graduated from Overly High School in 1941. Two years later she graduated from a business college in Fargo. She married Elmer Alfred “Jack” Wilson in 1945. They operated the Wilson Trailer Court on Second Street in Rugby for many years. Mr. Wilson died on July 7, 1977. She enjoyed working as a typist-cataloger at the Heart of America Library in Rugby from 1975-1988. She married Kenneth “Kelly” Hinck on December 16, 1978 in Rugby. Mr. Hinck died on May 22, 2003.

She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and its ladies groups.

She is survived by her children: Linda, and her husband Michael Papillon, Fridley, Minnesota; Delwin and his wife Nancy Wilson, Maple Grove, Minnesota and Mark Wilson, Fridley, Minnesota. She also leaves two sisters: Clara Hutchinson, Rugby and Olga Anderson, Oroville, California, and sisters-in-law Arla Hall and Murl Hill, both of Bottineau, North Dakota. Six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren have survived her.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, one sister, Selma Solberg, and a brother Johnny Hill.

Rev. Dana L. Holter officiated. Music was provided by Susan Hutchinson-Banning. Carrie Papillon was the reader.
