She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Kevin James; brothers Fabian and Leo Black; and sisters, Katherine Broderick and Regina King.

Rev. Michael Schommer was the celebrant. Casketbearers were Jerry, Perry and Robert Black; Jeff Bostow, Richard Gehl, Andrew Knutson and Robert Sharkey. Members of the Red Hat Society were honorary casketbearers.

Private memorial services are being held for Don Owen McLearen, 74, who died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Heart of America Nursing Facility in Rugby.

Don was born in Colorado on May 11, 1937, the son of Howard and Ruth (Boyer) McClearen. He was raised in the home of his parents and received his education in Kersey, Colo., graduating from Platte Valley High School in 1955. Following his schooling, he joined the U.S. Army Air Force in 1955 and was stationed at Keflavik, Iceland, from 1955 to 1956 and at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas, from 1956 to 1958. After leaving Texas, Don attended Chabot College in Hayward, Calif., from 1959-1961. He returned to Colorado, met and later married Patricia; they had four daughters together and lived in the Denver area, later separating. Years later, he had another daughter, Michelle. In the 1970s and 1980s, he worked as a supply manager for the U.S. Government on Kwajalein Island and also on Midway Island. On March 4, 1984, he married Cathy Halvorson in Hawaii and the couple made their home in Wolford until their separation. Don remained living in Wolford and worked at the radio stations KZZJ in Rugby and KBTO in Bottineau; he also helped on the Halvorson farm west of Wolford.

Survivors include his five daughters, Debora, Leslie, Karen, Trisha and Michelle, a sister Jewel, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Boyd; and his parents.
