Patricia E. (Bowersox) Meyer, the daughter of Dirvin and Freida (Maute) Bowersox, was born November 24, 1931, in the Wolford, North Dakota, home of her parents. She died at the age of 79 years on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.
Patricia was raised in the Wolford home of her parents and graduated from Wolford High School in 1950.Following graduation, she worked as a nursing assistant at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby.On November 24, 1953, Patricia was united in marriage to Frank Meyer at Wolford.Following their marriage, the couple made their home on the Meyer family farm in Meyer Township, Pierce County, until 1967 when they moved to Washington state.Frank died June 19, 2003.Patricia returned to North Dakota in 2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Teri Meyer of Mesa, Arizona; one granddaughter, Jamie Larsen of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters, Joan Strand of Leeds and Gloria Whalen of Rugby, formerly of York; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Meyer of Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Gary (2007); two sisters, Jean Straabe and Joyce Jensen; and her parents.
Patricia and Frank Meyer’s cremated remains were laid to rest Thursday, June 23, 2011, in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby. Rev. Brenda Burns officiated. A Celebration of Life fellowship luncheon followed.
