Doris Mae Thompson

At age 79 with her beloved children and daughter-in-law Lynn by her side, Doris Mae Thompson passed from this earth on April 9, 2011.

Doris was born December 30, 1931, in Rolette, N.D., the daughter of Edwin and Blanche Haagenson. She was united in marriage to Bennie Thompson and was blessed with three children, Mark (Lynn) Thompson, Kim Anfinson (Carl), and Kris DeAngelis (Tony). This family that she loved so much was also blessed with five grandchildren, Cal, Chelsi, Adam, Aubrey, and Brianna, and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Alli. Doris spent the first years of her life in Rolette and later moved to Reno, Nev., with her daughter Kris. After many years working there, she made a new home in Florida to be closer to Mark and his family. Her summers were spent in Rolette rekindling old friendships and spending time with her brother Stanley. She loved spending time crafting fine needlework, crocheting afghans, cooking and baking, and she would never miss an opportunity to play games with family and friends. The lifetime of creations and memories will be forever treasured.

She is survived by her brother, Stanley, and sisters, Olive and Edna.

A brother, Vernon, and sister, Vera, passed on before her.

The kindness of Pastor Brian andthe staff of Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/ Flagler will be forever remembered. Any memorials may be forwarded to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Orange City Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
