Kim A. Bengson

Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, Esmond, for Kim A. Bengson, 58, of Williston, formerly of Esmond, who died Wednesday, March 9 at Mercy Medical Center in Williston.

Kim was born May 9, 1952, at Memorial Hospital, Maddock, a son of Ward E. and Eunice (Halvorson) Bengson. He attended Esmond Elementary School and was homeschooled throughout high school. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent much of his enlisted years serving on Adak Island, Alaska. After his enlistment, he returned to North Dakota and attended Lake Region College, Devils Lake, and Trinity Bible College, Ellendale. He and his family later moved to Williston, where he worked as a salesman in the oilfields. He was once married to Lenora Schmidt.

He is survived by three sons, Shane, Fargo, Jesse, Davis, Calif., and Kevin, Williston; a daughter, Heidi Nichols, Minot; three grandchildren; mother, Eunice Bengson, Fargo; brother, John, Fargo; sister, Bonnie Anderson, Fargo; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, John and Stella Bengson and Albert and Inga Halvorson.

Pastor Dave Fix officiated. Music was provided by Heather Pedersen, Stephanie Bengson, and Karen Hill.
