Clara Linson
Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, 2011, at Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, for Clara Linson, 96, of Rolette, who died Friday, March 11 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.
Spring burial will be in the Rolette City Cemetery.
Clara was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Rolette County, a daughter of Pedar J. and Malene (Riise) Knudson. She graduated from Rolette High School in 1934, and from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Rugby, in 1939. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Rugby, Portland, Ore., Riverside, Calif., and Rolette. She served as Director of Nursing for the Rolette Community Hospital from 1963-1979, when she retired. She married William W. Linson Sept. 20, 1942, in Rolette.
She was a member of Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, serving on various committees, WELCA, and as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Association, Sons of Norway, and Rolette Friendship and Birthday Clubs.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucretia Grudem, Argusville; sons, Bill, Moorhead, Minn., and Gary, Rolette; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry; brothers, John, Roy, Henry, and Rev. Stanley; and sisters, Herdis Reese and Pearl Lo.
Pastor John Hesford officiated. Music was provided by Jennifer and Mathew Finley.
Casketbearers were Eldore Gilje, Marlo Hill, Robyn Martinson, Mark Evanger, Tim Davis, and Randy Gingerich.
