Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church, Towner, for Margaret Susan “Sue” Crawford, 85, of Denbigh, who died Wednesday, December 1 at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Burial was in Union Cemetery, Towner.

Sue was born May 1, 1925, at home in Denbigh, a daughter of Ed and Marget (Eidness) Brown. She was raised in Denbigh and completed grade school there. She graduated from Granville High School in 1943. She completed her education as a registered nurse with the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps program through Trinity Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She married Lowell “Pete” Crawford on April 5, 1947, at her parents’ Denbigh home. The couple made their home at Spring Lake Ranch in Denbigh. She worked as a registered nurse for many years at Trinity Medical Center in Minot, Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby, and Johnson Clinic in Towner, retiring in 1977. The couple moved to Minot in 2006. Pete died April 18, 2010.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Towner, serving as organist, the Presbyterian Women, Eastern Star, and Prairie Rose Homemaker Club, was a former Cub Scout and 4-H leader, and served on the PTA and Band Mothers. She also served as an election judge for Denbigh Township.

She is survived by five sons, Ron, Burnsville, Minn., Dennis, Minot, Tom, Elizabeth, Colo., Mike, Gilbert, Ariz., and Keith, Fargo; three daughters, Cindy Orr, Elizabeth, Colo., Diane Eaton, Avon, Ind., and Marianne Wirtz, Minot; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Monson, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Edwin and Ronald Brown.

Pastor Donald Andrews officiated. Music was provided by Becky Field and Renee Officer, vocalists, and Elaine Hendrickson, organist.

Casketbearers were Travis Crawford, Cody Crawford, Cory Crawford, John Wirtz, Roger Dosch, and Jerry Bailey.
