Jane Woyen
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Esmond, for Jane M. Woyen, 59, of Bismarck, formerly of rural Esmond, who died Friday, Nov. 19 at her home.
Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Esmond.
Jane was born April 11, 1951, in Devils Lake, a daughter of Henry and Olivia (Beck) Hanson. She was raised in Oberon, graduating from Oberon High School in 1969. She then graduated from Lake Region Junior College in 1971. She worked at the 7-Up Bottling Company in Devils Lake and the Oberon Cafe. She married Aaron Woyen on Nov. 4, 1972, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Oberon. The couple lived and farmed near Esmond in Isabel Township. She worked for the NDSU Extension Service at Minnewaukan and was employed at Rose’s Stitch ‘N’ Sew in Devils Lake. The couple moved to Bismarck in December 2004, where she was employed at Joy’s Hallmark and Hickory Farms.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Oberon, Immanuel Lutheran Church and its WELCA, rural Esmond, and attended Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Bismarck.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron, Bismarck; sons, Pastor Steven Woyen, Strasburg, Ohio, and Mark Woyen, Bismarck; two grandchildren; four brothers, Larry Barko, Oberon, Gary Barko, twin James Hanson, and Paul Hanson, all of Sheyenne; mother-in-law, Ellen Woyen, New Rockford; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Palmer Woyen; and sister-in-law, Sharon Woyen.
Pastors Harold Ovre and Nadine Lehr officiated. Music was provided by Janice Toso, soloist, and Jennifer Hagen, organist.
Casketbearers were Peter Woyen, Travis Woyen, Ryan Hanson, Corey O’Connell, James Thornton, and Jeff Hagen.
