Frances Moe
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, for Frances Moe, 76, of Devils Lake, who died Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake.
Burial was in Devils Lake Cemetery.
Frances was born Aug. 27, 1934, in Orrin, a daughter of George and Johanna (Bohl) Kuntz. She attended school in Pierce County, and worked as a nanny in the Rugby area before moving to Devils Lake. She married Henry Gordon Moe on June 22, 1957, at St. Joseph Rectory, Devils Lake. She worked as a cook for the Ramsey County Courthouse Cafe for many years, and also for a time at Leever’s Bakery. After retiring, she worked as a substitute cook for area elementary schools.
She was member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, WELCA, the Prisca Circle, and was past president of the Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, James, Patricia Bye, and David, all of Devils Lake, and Dennis, Grafton; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Amelia Schmidt, Towner, Rebecca Long, Tacoma, Wash., Elizabeth Wentz, Bismarck, Nick Kuntz, Magdalen Hermanson, Bernadette Wentz, Barbara Zahradka, and Richard Kuntz, all of Devils Lake, George Kuntz, Roseberg, Ore., and Joan Gleason, Tolna; brother-in-law, Gordon Skaar, Rugby; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; granddaughter, Kristen Bye; brothers, Peter, David and Joseph Kuntz; brothers-in-law, John Schmidt, Wendell Wentz, and Covett Long; and sister-in-law, Nettie Skaar.
Rev. Jeff Nicla officiated.
Casketbearers were her grandsons, Christopher Moe, Kelly Graber, Greg Ough, Bryce Moe, Justin Bye, Bryan Bye, Robert Moe, and Ryan Lang.
