Joy Phillips

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the Presbyterian Church, Towner, for Joy E. Phillips, 86, of Towner, who died Monday, Nov. 8 at the Heart of America Medical Center.

Burial was in Union Cemetery, Towner.

Joy was born March 30, 1924, in Towner, a daughter of Johnny and Jenny (Sigurdson) Phillips. She was raised in the Towner home of her parents and received her education there. She worked as a housekeeper for many area families.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Towner and its women’s group.

She is survived by her son, John, Beulah; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Elaine Heath.

Pastor Don Andrews officiated. Music was provided by Elaine Hendrickson, organist.

Casketbearers were Kenneth Follman, Jerry Bailey, Brad Phillips, Monte Gefroh, Travis Heath, and Chris Lundeen.
