Dillon Tofte

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at First Lutheran Church, Rugby, for Dillon M. Tofte, 17, of rural Wolford, who died Monday, Oct. 11 from injuries sustained in a 4-wheeler accident near his home.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Knox.

Dillon was born April 21, 1993, in Rugby, a son of Delton and Becky (Schaan) Tofte. He was raised in the home of his parents near Wolford. He attended Wolford Public School where he was active in speech, drama, school newspaper, yearbook, FBLA, shooting club, choir, student council, football, and was senior class president.

He was a member of the Sand Lake Trail Riders and Pierce County 4-H.

He is survived by his parents; brother, Cody, Rugby; sisters, LeeAnn Knoll, Bismarck, LaRae Selfridge, Kenai, Alaska, and Sierra and Kelsey Tofte, both of Wolford; grandmother, Eleanore Tofte, Devils Lake; uncle, Dale Tofte, Devils Lake; aunts, Vanda Anderson, Ortonville, Minn., and Connie Tofte, Devils Lake; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence “Raymond” Tofte, and maternal grandparents, Clem and Barbara Schaan.

Pastor Mike Pretzer and Pastor Sharon Baker officiated. Music was provided by Craig Wollenburg, soloist, and Pam Anderson, organist.

Casketbearers were the North Prairie senior football players: Nick Cahill, Alex Jacobsen, Nathan Joraanstad, Kyle Kakela, Matthew Kurtti, Carl Nelson, Jared Vandal, Lane Marion, and Jaden Pfeifer.
