Corrine Burke
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Holladay Park Plaza Chapel, Portland, Ore., for Corrine Olivia Burke, 96, of Portland, who died Tuesday, Aug. 24 at Holladay Park Plaza retirement and skilled nursing facility.
Burial was in Finley-Sunset Hill Mortuary, Portland.
Corrine was born April 20, 1914, in Minneapolis, a daughter of Axel and Clara (Erickson) Carlson. She grew up in Pleasant Lake. She married Gustav Anthony “Tony” Burke in 1932, in North Dakota. During WWII, the couple moved to Portland to work in the shipyards. She then worked for the Jantzen Company as a seamstress and designer.
She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church, North Portland, and the ladies’ guild.
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Marsh, Lake Oswego, Ore., and Donna Beemer, Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lynn Carlson, Rugby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Rev. William Coffman and Rev. Glenn Chase officiated.
