Evelyn Senechal
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby, for
Evelyn Senechal, 96, of Rugby, formerly of Willow City and Overly, who died Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the Heart of America Nursing Facility in Rugby.
Burial will be in Notre Dame Catholic Cemetery, Willow City.
Evelyn was born Oct. 1, 1914, in rural Willow City, a daughter of Noe and Mederice “Alma” (Cote) Cote. She was raised in the home of her parents in the Willow City area, and graduated from Cote #2 School in Bottineau County. She married Phillip J. Senechal on Nov. 3, 1938, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Willow City. They made their home on the Senechal family farm south of Overly until the fall of 1973, when they built a home in Willow City.
She was a member of the Altar Society at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Overly, and Notre Dame Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Keith, Overly, Myron, Bismarck, and Orlan, Rolette; daughters, Joyce Zunich, East Grand Forks, Diane Stangler, Stanchfield, Minn., and Shirley Voeller, Rugby; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Lillian Allard and Alice Kuhn, both of Bottineau; one brother, LeRoy Cote, Dunseith; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; twin great-granddaughters, Annika and Ella; grandson, Jeffrey Senechal; four brothers, Ovila, Rene, Armand, and O’Neil; and three sisters, Adeline, Olivine, and Dineva.
Fr. Philip Chacko will be the Celebrant, and Fr. Tom Graner will be the Concelebrant. Music will be provided by Judy Allard, vocal leader/cantor, and Cheryl Guss, organist.
Casketbearers will be Jim Senechal, Brent Zunich, Troy Voeller, Cory Voeller, John Senechal, Matt Senechal, Kevin Voeller, Mike Senechal, Joey Senechal, and Garth Senechal.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m at Anderson Funeral Home. There will be no reviewal at the church.
