Jeanette Mears
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, for Jeanette E. Mears, 70, of Harvey, who died Friday, July 9 at a Fargo hospital.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Jeanette was born July 7, 1940, at Bottineau, a daughter of Herbert and Aleda (Kuhn) Mahler. She grew up on a farm in the Turtle Mountains. The family moved into Bottineau where she was a waitress at a local restaurant. She graduated from Bottineau High School in 1958. She married Harland E. Mears on June 6, 1959, in Bottineau. The couple lived in Rugby, Michigan, Devils Lake, and, in 1978, they moved to Harvey. She provided daycare services while living in Devils Lake and Harvey.
She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Holy Family Society, and Wells Eagles Auxiliary, all of Harvey.
She is survived by her mother, Aleda Mahler, Harvey; husband, Harland, Harvey; daughters, Marilyn Demory, Harvey, and Sandra Anderson, Moorhead, Minn.; son, Dennis, Milbank, S.D.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Walker, Valley City, and Laura Erickson, Maddock; and two brothers, Ralph Mahler, Fargo, and Myron Mahler, Oberon.
She was preceded in death by her father; two infant sons; and a brother, Lawrence Mahler.
