Phyllis Ripplinger
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby, for Phyllis Ripplinger, 62, of Devils Lake, formerly of Rugby, who died Wednesday, April 21 at MeritCare in Fargo.
Burial will be in Little Flower Catholic Cemetery.
Phyllis was born Aug. 14, 1947, in Minot, a daughter of Gordon and Margaret (Benjamin) Pfau. The family moved to Rugby shortly thereafter, and she attended school in Rugby. She married Steve Ripplinger on Sept. 26, 1964, in Rugby. The couple farmed and ranched north of Rugby. In 1990, they moved to Salol, Minn., where she worked at Marvin Window Company. In 2009 she retired and they moved to Devils Lake.
When she lived in the Rugby area, she was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers at Little Flower Church.
She is survived by her husband; her children, Janet Thoreson of Horace, Ronald of Rugby, and Rick and Gordon, both of Bismarck; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Pfau of Fargo and Wesley Pfau of Superior, Wis.; two half-brothers, David Hornstein of Rifle, Colo. and Donovan Hornstein of Hayden, Colo.; three sisters, Marsha Rau of Fargo, Wanda Kremer of Balta, and Jayne Hornstein of Minot; her mother, Margaret Hornstein of Minot; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father; her mother- and father-in-law; and a son, Stephen, in infancy.
Rev. John Ejike will officiate. Music will be provided by Galen Mack, song leader, and Glenda Mack, organist.
Casketbearers will be Wade Goldade, Joe Kremer, Chad Pfau, Dewayne Pfau, Donald Rau, and Randy Young.
Visitation will resume from 8 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.
