Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Niewoehner Funeral Home in Rugby, for
Dennis Naumann, 75, of Rugby, who died Tuesday, April 13 at the Heart of America Medical Center.
Burial will be at a later date in the N.D. Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Dennis was born July 23, 1934, in Spring Lake Township, Pierce County, a son of Carl William and Ora Ola (Payne) Naumann. He went to elementary school at the Spruce Hill School and graduated from Rugby High School in 1952. He worked in the oil fields in the Tioga area for a time before entering the U.S. Army in April of 1957. He was honorably discharged in April of 1959 at the rank of SP4, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He returned to the oil fields near Tioga, then returned to the Rugby area where he farmed. He moved to the Harold S. Haaland Home in 2004.
He is survived by his half-brother, Jim Rhine of Tacoma, Wash., and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Gerald Naumann, Patricia Pederson, Ryan, Ronald, Gene, Orville, and Mike Rhine, Glenna Ohlin, Laura Amundson, and Jessie Rudolph.
Rev. Michael Pretzer will officiate. Music will be provided by Dianne Montonye, organist.
Full military honors will be accorded by the Clarence Larson Post #23 American Legion and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Detail.
