A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Rugby, for Myron Haugse, 74, of Rugby, who died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at his winter home in Yuma, Ariz.

Burial will be in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby.

Myron was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Sentinel Butte, a son of Norman and Ethel (Honnold) Haugse. He graduated from Dickinson High School. He attended college at Dickinson State and Mayville State, and earned his Master’s degree from NDSU. He served as superintendent at various schools in North Dakota and Minnesota. In 1994, he retired from Dunseith Public School after a bout with cancer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the American Legion, N.D. Retired Teachers Association, and the First Lutheran Church in Rugby.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; two sons: Mike, Geneseo, Ill., and William, Bagley, Minn.; a step-son, Bob Bolinske, Jr., Bismarck; four grandchildren; a brother, Clayton, Billings, Mont.; a sister, Eunice, Powell, Wyo.; and other relatives and friends.
