Myrtle Moe
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Persilla Watts Cemetery for Myrtle Moe, 92, of Rugby, who died Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Heart of America Medical Center Long Term Care.
Myrtle was born July 19, 1917, at Willow City, a daughter of Lawrence and Georgianna (Lizotte) Gouin. She grew up in Willow City and attended Notre Dame Academy there. After leaving school, she waitressed in Minot for a few years until moving to Minneapolis in November 1937. In 1945, she began working for the Triangle Manufacturing Company and worked there until its closing in 1962. She started working at the American Monarch Company in Minneapolis, retiring in 1984. She was once married to Rex Norton. She married Clarence Arthur Moe in July 1956, at Hudson, Wis. Clarence died Oct. 24, 1974. After her retirement, she managed an apartment building until moving to Rugby in 1988. She lived at the Haaland Manor, and moved to the Heart of America Medical Center Long Term Care in 2007.
She was a member of the Rugby Senior Citizens Sunshine Club.
She is survived by a brother, Raymond Gouin, of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Elizabeth Carpenter, of New Richmond, Wis.; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers: Elmer, Fritz, Jerry, Lawrence, Johnny, and Harold and Howard in infancy; and a sister, Rosalie Lewis.
