Robert Tuchscherer
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Fort Scott, Kan., for Robert “Bob” Tuchscherer, 67, of Fort Scott, who died Monday, Feb. 15 at his home.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Scott.
Bob was born June 20, 1942, in Breckenridge, Minn., a son of Sylvester “Tuck” and Isabel Tuchscherer. He attended Anamoose High School. In 1960, he attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton. The next year he transferred to North Dakota State University, and in 1966, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He married his wife, Marti, on Aug. 30, 1969. They moved to Fort Scott where he owned and managed the Fort Scott Wal-Mart Pharmacy for twenty-five years as well as Vista Pharmacy until it was sold in 2009. He and four partners formed the True Quality Pharmacy Corporation based in McKinney, Texas. They acquired seventy-four pharmacies in five different states.
He was a member of Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary Club, the Elks Lodge, and he was a field instructor for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Kansas.
He is survived by his wife, Marti; three children: Laura Garzone, Pittsburg, Kan., April Meyer, Winfield, Kan., and Ryan, Denver; four grandchildren; three brothers: John, Alexandria, Va., Jim, Lino Lakes, Minn., and Marc, Anchorage, Alaska; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
